Oil Painters of America’s mission is to advance the cause of traditional, representational fine art. Dedicated to preserving and promoting excellence in representational art, OPA’s primary focus is to draw attention to the lasting value of fine drawing, color, composition, and the appreciation of light.
The "Favorite" of a painting by OPA Deviant Art does not guarantee membership into the organization or entry into any exhibition. Membership applications are reviewed by a committee and entry into an exhibition is done by a jurying process.
You must live in North America (which includes United States, Canada, and Mexico) and be a member of OPA to participate in exhibitions.

Oil Painters of America will hold its 2015 Spring Online Showcase of Traditional Oil Paintings, March 1st through May 15, 2015.
Approximately 13 awards will be given with a total value of $5,000 including a $3,000 top prize given to artists in the Associate member category. OPA is currently accepting new members. If accepted, new members are granted the Associate Member designation.
Deadline for online submissions is May 15, 2015. Winners will be announced on May 22, 2015.
Online Showcase entry fee: $14 each entry. Artists may enter as many artworks as they would like.

Oil Painters of America will hold its Twenty-fourth Annual National Exhibition of Representational Oil Paintings, May 1 through May 25, 2015 with Cutter & Cutter Fine Art at their Brilliance in Color Gallery located in St. Augustine, Florida.
Approximately 30 awards will be given with a total value estimated in excess of $80,000, including a $25,000 Best of Show. Juror of Awards is renowned Master Signature Artist Huihan Liu OPAM. A full-color catalog will be available.
